If you match the border color of the input, select, etc... to the background of the inside of your form elements, the border around the select box will go away in opera and firefox. I have noticed that IE will use its own blue border and safari will do its own thing inside the rounded box. You can always specify ie to not use the rounded corners in your ie css if it doesn't work with your design.

Let me know if your find a way to remove it in ie.

It works with span class="rndc" in place of the strong tag and span class="rndc2" in place of the em tag.

The border on my select drop down is still showing inside the rounded corner box.

I'll have to have a look round to get that off. I'll let you know how I get on.

Neil,

It looks like what you wanted to check did not come through on the comment. I don't really have any reason for picking the strong and em tag. When I first started using this method I was already using strong and em's on rounded corner background images and just used similar HTML for these. You can use any HTML tag as your hook for the CSS if you like. I prefer inline elements like strong, em and span, but you can use div or any other element that nests well if you would rather.

Nice job Matt. I might be able to use some of these tips soon when I move into the new place -- might help in having it keep that 'new' feeling.

Illustrating your posts seems to be a good idea which I, unlike you, am guilty of not following.

@Kai, I have thought about a lot over the past month. I am not sure if the basketball hoop is on the house listing or not. I don't want someone coming to look at his house and not buy it because the hoop has gone missing. I would feel awfully bad.

It's not abandoned, he just had to move away before it sold.

Do you think you could get away with moving your neighbor's old basketball hoop onto your own property for those next-year practices? Guess it's all a question of whether it's abandoned or not. Either way, congratulations.
